Peddle

We are not here by

An act of Divine Discipline

We are not in time out

We are merely children

In the midst of a dream

And when morning dawns

Each will awaken

Salvation is for all

None shall be lost

As the Great Shepherd tirelessly searches

For the one still astray

We are all prodigal sons and daughters

Who eventually find our way home

To the rich inheritance

That has been ours all along

We must realize that our poverty

And estrangement

Are our own self-induced imaginings

And not inflicted upon us by a chastising God

Then we will find our way home

Because salvation is like riding a bicycle:

Something that one ultimately learns alone

And never really forgets

No matter how much time passes.

Just peddle.
